Putting D&D Next through to the test using Planescape
The best AD&D setting, this time with the brand spakin’ new D&D Next system. I run it mainly for kids in a combo custom ice cream parlor, retro arcade, pinball joint. Pretty cool place, but very distracting sometimes.
The group is made up of a couple kids, one father, and one of the father’s friends. Other people I know may or may not show up and pop in as other PCs or NPCs or whatever seems like a good idea at the time.
Aside from indulging in my love of surreal plan-hopping “philosophers with clubs,” this is explicitly a playtesting campaign, so expect direct rules commentary on updates. I’m going to try to document player reactions and my own feelings on the rules, and I welcome any discussion or comments (whether rules or adventures or just elements to add to the campaign) on what we put together.
If you are not already signed up for the open D&D Next playtest, or aren’t up to speed on the current rules, you can sign up here. I encourage everyone to check it out – the more feedback they get, the better the game will be.
